there is a dock at the very end of benbrook, right near the dam and water tower. does anyone here know what i'm talking about? i found it on a map and followed it one day but the gate to get back there was locked. i've seen people fishing on there so i know you can get back there but i don't know how they got past the locked gate (legally that is).
Early spring is the best time to catch lunker largemouth bass in Benbrook Lake, fishing the mouths of the creeks. Hybrid striped bass fishing picks up in the late spring and early summer months, fishing the humps and ridges found in the main lake near the dam. Blue catfish are found near the river channel in winter in deep water. Crappie gather in brush to spawn then move to deeper water where they can be caught on live minnows. White bass and channel catfish are good targets in summer months.
Lake Benbrook has little aquatic vegetation. Most structure is in the form of dead trees and underwater ridges or humps.
