Falcon Dam is a dam on the Rio Grande in Starr County in the U.S. state of Texas. This dam was built for conservation, irrigation, Hydroelectric generating plant, flood control, and recreational purposes and as an international border crossing between Zapata and Starr Counties and Nueva Ciudad Guerrero, Tamaulipas, Mexico. The dam construction ended in October 1953 and was dedicated by Mexican President Adolfo Ruiz Cortines and President Dwight D.
