The Windy Catch
It was a long day of work, so I thought to myself “what’s a better way to relax then to go fishingâ€ÂÂ. A little after 3p I headed to a small nearby lake. When I got to the lake, it was 55 degrees out and windy. The lake that is most of the time calm was now very choppy. I start my day throwing out bright green and yellow buzz bait, in hopes that the fish would hear the noise and/or at least see the color though the murky stirred up water. After a few cast while analyzing the environment, I decided it may be best to go to the bottom of the water where it is more calm. I then tossed out a .75 ounce Football Jig Bait. I was slowly retrieving my lure, jerking it often to give it some action then letting it sit at the bottom. On the second cast, all of my theories/analysis fell into place. I felt the hit on my lure, waited about two seconds, then set the hook. The fight began and with the correct drag and patients, I was able to land this 19†largemouth bass.
