Small Fish.but Lots Of Fun

Me and my bud Will went to Herds Pond saturday afternoon (6/5/09) in Sudbury Ma. launched the boat at about 1:00 p.m. weather was mostly cloudy, sun popped out a little but anyway the pond was definately looking active,we saw all tipes of jumps, bait fish,swirls.... right of the bat we knew we were going to have a good day. we started fishing the bank right off the launch counter clockwise around the pond. Will was throwing a sprow frog and I was throwing a shakey head rig. After alot of hooksets and loosing the fish in the weeds I finally pulled out a small 1lb.Largemouth. 10 lb. Braid on the shakey head (Baby Bass Zoom Trick Worm) So we decided to head out in to the middle of the lake, thats where it got crazy. We both caught a couple of croppie, nice to see them once in a while,I swithced to a Bass Pro Shops XPS 10' diving jointed crankbait all white,Will tied on a couple of nice rigs (spinnerbait, crankbait, spoon,I cant remember the names. It was alot of fun. At about 5:00 P.M. we hit the banks again and Will was throwing the Sprow frog at them. He got the biggest top water hit I've ever seen... At least a 3lb. Bass. but he lost him in the weeds....Yah it was bad. But all in all it was a good day.
